My last journal was put up in July, so I figured I needed a new one!

This school year's been really lovely so far, I'm really happy about this whole "being a senior" thing. Turned 18, got my license, off to fence now - life is good. Now if only my college applications would fill themselves out, everything would be perfect.

How's everyone been?

:D Class '09.
Actually I'm not too spirited but hey.

WOAH when did you turn 18?
Where are you applying, what do you plan to major in?

:3 I got a ticket, I teach homeless/low income children. That's pretty much what's up with me.

XD Turned 18 a week ago! Applying to Wellesley, Hollins, Oberlin, UVA, etc, hoping to major in Creative Writing/Women's Studies.

Alas to the ticket, yay to the teaching! What do you teach? Sounds fun! Also, do you know where you're applying to/what you want to major in?

:D wellesley is cool.

So are all the other schools.
Women's studies? THAT IS AWESOME!!

Arts and crafts,
in list from first choice down.
CalArts, MICA, Cooper Union, RISD, VCU, SVA.
As for majors, it depends which school I go to. Animation, Publication, Fine Arts, Painting, Sculpture are all up there.

Yay! Sounds awesome. I've only ever heard of a few of those schools, though XD What's MICA and Cooper Union?

Studying animation and publication would be fun... Mostly publication, because I actually know stuff about that one XD but all of those sound cool!

Mica is up in Baltimore, it's a really great for painting and angst I hear. xD They have lots of scholarship opportunities, especially merit based ones. Oh it sounds like love! From my internet stalking of mica bloggers - it seems like students tend to love the school but not the area.

Cooper Union is amazingly hard to get into, 11% acceptance rate for the school overall... and for the art division it's about 5%.
They have probably one of the most hardcore application processes. Their hometest scars, you have a little under a month to complete and send in I think five pieces of artwork based on the prompts they give you.
Student work is very out there. Also anyone who is accepted gets free tuition, but living cost can be hard to keep up with. They don't offer a food plan, and only first years are allowed to live in the dorms.

I LOVE PUBLICATION, love the nerdy talk with dpis, and file/colour formats, chatting it up typography style! And weeding through awful writing! Oh, how I miss being in litmag. :<
